Frequently asked questions about paper scale models

A paper scale model is a model you build yourself from paper. From a truck, ship, building or any other object we create a high-quality build sheet that works perfectly as a corporate gift, staff gift or educational tool. Below we answer the questions we hear most often.

What exactly is a paper scale model?

A paper scale model is a flat sheet of sturdy paper with all the parts of a 3D model printed on it. You cut out the parts, fold along the lines and glue them together. The result is a recognisable model of a truck, crane vessel, town hall or ambulance.

Unlike a ready-made plastic model, a paper build sheet ships flat, is cost-effective in larger quantities and interactive: the recipient builds it themselves.

Why is a paper model a better corporate gift than a pen or keychain?

Standard giveaways disappear quickly. A paper model demands attention: people spend 20 to 60 minutes assembling it. Afterwards the model sits on a desk or shelf — with your logo or object in view.

It is more sustainable (no plastic), more personal and stays visible far longer than a pen that ends up in a drawer.

Can I have a paper model made of my own truck, ship or building?

Yes. We specialise in custom work. Provide photos, drawings or a 3D file and we develop a detailed paper scale model.

Frequently requested objects: trucks and lorries, ships and crane vessels, buses, cars, buildings, town halls, ambulances, yachts and mascots.

For which occasions are paper scale models suitable?

They work well for:

  • Corporate gifts and Christmas gifts
  • Trade shows and open days
  • Anniversaries and opening events
  • Staff gifts and team building
  • School projects and educational workshops
  • Product launches
How long does it take to create a custom paper model?

Allow 3 to 6 weeks from briefing to printed run. Simple objects are faster; complex ships or buildings take a little longer. Rush projects can be discussed per assignment.

From which quantity is a paper model worthwhile?

Custom work already makes sense from about 50–100 units. At higher volumes (500, 1000, 2000+) the price per unit drops significantly. We are happy to advise what fits your goal and budget.

Are the paper models sustainable?

Yes. We print on sturdy FSC paper at Dutch printers. No plastic, fully recyclable. Ideal if you want a corporate gift that matches a sustainable brand image.

How difficult is it to assemble a paper model?

We match the complexity to the audience. For schools and children we make simpler models; for business relations more detail. Clear instructions (EN and/or NL) are always included.

Can you make a paper model of a truck or lorry?

Yes — trucks and lorries are among the most requested models. We have created company vans and special trucks as corporate gifts and staff gifts. Trailers and combinations are also possible.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. We deliver worldwide. Instructions can be provided in English. For larger international runs we look at the most efficient print and shipping options.

What does a custom paper model cost?

The price depends on complexity, format and quantity. A simple model in a higher run is much more affordable per unit than a large, detailed ship in a small run. Request a free quote — we usually reply within two working days.
